Aa Ab Laut Chalen

I didn't remember AALC at all so today when I had nothing to do I decided to rewatch it as I had bought the DVD almost a year back and still hadn't watched it!
As a first time Director, Rishi Kapoor did a brilliant job. I'm really confused as to why the film was unsuccessful and why he never directed again! I hope to see him back very soon in the role of a director for R K Films and hopefully he'll take Ranbir in his movie!
The Music was really good, Nadeem-Shravan did a good job and I love almost all the songs. The songs were choreographed well by Saroj Khan too.
Performances were overall quite good and everyone did justice to their roles. Their were the few ridiculous performances like that NRI girl Akshaye falls for haha (she was such a loser) and Akshaye's step brother (surely it can't be that hard to act)!
Akshaye Khanna was awesome! The guy is such a natural and fit the role with perfect ease. There never is a moment ever in any of Akshaye's performances/films where you can say he acted badly or over the top. He's always spot on! And I love him in these rom-com kind of roles, he was adorable.
Aishwarya Rai looked stunning! One of her best looks in any movie, handsdown. And she made a great pair with Akshaye, very nice chemistry. Performance-wise she did a good job and did justice to the role. She was sweet, simple and very pretty. For an actress who was quite a newcomer, and that too in the 90s, it was quite a good performance.
Rajesh Khanna What can I say about this man? He is the KING of overacting. From his older movies to his more recent ones... one thing has remained and that is his inability to give a single natural performance. I've nothing against him but he just cannot act! He was okay at most.
Overall I really enjoyed the movie and I had a lot of fun watching it. I don't remember what I thought of it when I saw it back in 1999 but if I can watch it 9 years post it's release date with no memory of how I felt towards it earlier, and now I accept it, then that's something!! It's very entertaining and pretty well made, also has a lot of repeat value.
