I remember having seen Jaanwar for the first time only a couple of years back as for some reason I had missed it when it released in 1999. I loved it a lot then. I eventually got to add the DVD to my collection and rewatched it today. I really enjoyed the film.

Akshay Kumar obviously steals the show with his power-packed performance. He's brilliant, especially in the second half. Shilpa Shetty pitches in a really good effort too, as does Mohnish Behl. Karisma Kapoor looks pretty and dances well but has no scope for performance. Johny Lever is good and Shakti Kapoor is slight irritating with his strange get-up.

The music is quite nice and overall I really like the film. The relationship between Akshay and his son is the highlight of the film, as well as Shilpa-Mohnish's angle.

Overall, it's a good film from Suneel Darshan!
