My sister bought the DVD recently so today I rewatched it after 5 years [when it released]. I had LOVED the movie back then, but did it impress me just as much after all these years? Hmm.. Well, no not as much because this time I noticed some downsides to the film that I had not cared for earlier. However, I still think AMALL has a great concept and is made quite well... But the potential it has as a story was not depicted as well as it could have been, which is a shame.

As a director Vicky does a fine job as per usual!

The Music by Rajesh Roshan was extremely disappointing and no track is memorable or even too likable. It's the weakest point of the film definitely.

The screenplay was also weak and many points could've been edited [actually, I found 99.9% of the scenes which did not feature either Amisha or Hrithik to be utter nonsense haha]...

Hrithik and Amisha were adorable as a pairing, just as they were in Kaho Naa... they're so sweet together! I really hope they are paired together again sometime, Amisha definitely makes one of Hrithik's best pairings.

In terms of performances the film belongs entirely to Hrithik. He carries the film on his shoulders and delivers a brilliant performance! He fits the role perfectly and does a fine job. On the other hand, Amisha is not at her best - far from it. Her crying attacks are hideously shocking and I just don't understand what warped her to perform like this and what went on in Vicky's head to OK her majorly terrible shots?? Anyway she did look very gorgeous nonetheless!!

Overall, AMALL is one of those films that came in what people considered Hrithik's bad period and I was one of those rare [or perhaps the only] ones to have loved each and every one of those movies that came in his supposed low phase haha... I can't say AMALL is a very good film, but it's OK... The entertainment value and concept are both good enough for me to have enjoyed it both times I have seen it and safely say that the DVD was worth buying because I probably will watch it at least a few more times. An entertaining and sweet film!
