Baazigar [1993]

Baazigar
Reviewed: 11 June 2007

I was so stuck on what to watch today and I finally picked Baazigar. I was watching it after a gap of say two years probably... So it was fun to watch!

The movie is a kickass thriller - typical of the Abbas-Mustan genre. It keeps you glued to the screen throughout! Amazing story and a pretty tight screenplay. Actually, I think I have never enjoyed Baazigar as much as I did today!!

Performances were good all round. From the character artistes it was Dalip Tahil and Johnny Lever who stand out and leave an impression.

Shah Rukh was amazing! So amazing that even today he managed to scare me and I'm feeling a bit freaked out at the moment He was just so stunning... What a performance!!! Absolutely PERFECT!

Kajol was brilliant! She handled all the layers in her complex character with ease. Brilliant in the chirpy and happy go lucky moments of the first half, she reminded me a lot of her younger sister Tanisha there! And she was even greater in the second half! Oh and I soo loved her Gabbar-Intro

Shilpa was very good for a newcomer, but the role wasn't right for her to debut with. However, she looked pretty and performed very well in whatever little she had to do.

The Music is just mind-blowing!! Anu Malik composed a superb soundtrack and each and every track lives on today... A classic album!! All the songs are awesome! My favs being Baazigar O Baazigar, Kitaabein Bohat Si & Kaali Kaali Aankhen.

Overall, as almost every Abbas-Mustan movie...Baazigar is AMAZINGGGG!
